My first piece of advice is simple: if you are intentionally distracting yourself by talking on your cell, texting, ect, simply quit doing these things and concentrate on the road. Yes, it’s alright to change the radio station every now and then, but try to keep your attention on the road.??

Secondly, many driving experts recommend raising your head a little higher while driving. It may seem odd, but by doing so, you are in fact allowing your eyes to see further down the road, which will help you avoid a potential accident further ahead.

Driving experts also recommend looking through the rear windows of autos to see further ahead. The more you see, the more likely you are to be able to react.

Oh! And check your own Rear View Mirror at least every 15 seconds. Don’t move your entire head to look, just move your eyes quickly to the mirror, and then back to the road. Some times it is more important to know who is following you, in case you may have to maneuver your vehicle! Remember You drive Your Vehicle…Not Your Vehicle Driving You!!

Keep scanning the road and your surroundings, keeping your eyes in constant motion. According to one driving expert, our central vision (what is in focus when we are looking at something) is roughly only three degrees. We have good peripheral vision (180 degrees), but it isn’t anywhere near as clear as our central vision, which is why it is necessary to keep your eyes moving while behind the wheel.

What Cabby Ken has noticed is: the more your pay attention, engage in your driving, Know who is a head and behind you..ect ect…: The less tired, and aware you become driving!!..Engage your mind while driving.

Finally, try to remember your driver’s education course and its core teachings. These lessons should be like instinct when behind the wheel. If you have forgotten the majority of these teachings, do a bit of reading and catch up.
