KV005832 Hello my friends. Apu the cabby here with another funny story from behind the wheel of a taxi in NYC.

I picked up a fare at a midtown hotel. It was woman from Kansas that was in town to sell her special popcorn at snack convention in lower Manhattan. It was very very hot day and air conditioning not working in cab as usual. I load up her popcorn in trunk of cab. Traffic was nightmare getting downtown so Apu knew a shortcut through Chinatown. As we drive through Chinatown, Apu hears popping sounds and think it’s firecrackers.

When we get to building where convention is and open trunk, popcorn is everywhere. All her popcorn had popped in hot trunk and popcorn lady tries to blame Apu. I explain air conditioning doesn’t go to trunk, so Apu has plan. I have friend that has popcorn cart, so I go and get popcorn boxes and give them to lady and she was able to make orders for her popcorn and give Apu big tip, plus box of popcorn, so it all works out.

Just another day in the life of a New York cabbie.
